OIC chief strongly condemns the suicide attack in Punjab, Pakistan

Jeddah, (IINA) - The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Madani, in a statement issued on Monday strongly condemned the suicide attack in Punjab, Pakistan, resulting in the killing of the Provincial Home Minister, Col (Rtd) Shuja Khanzada and several others, on Sunday.
The OIC chief offered his sincere condolences to the bereaved families as well as the government and people of Pakistan. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured in the incident.
The Secretary General also expressed the hope that this senseless and cowardly attack would not weaken the resolve and commitment of the government and people of Pakistan to up-root the menace of extremism and terrorism in the country, expressing at the same time appreciation for the efforts of the government of Pakistan in fighting terrorism.
In addition to that, Madani reiterated OIC’s commitment to counter terrorism in pursuance of the resolutions adopted by the organization summits and council of foreign ministers meetings, calling upon the member states to strengthen joint action and spare no efforts in addressing this daunting challenge.
