OIC secretary general meets UAE foreign minister

Abu Dhabi, (IINA) - Iyad Madani, secretary general of the Organization of Islamic cooperation, met with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nahyan here on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Sultan Al-Jaber, minister of state and Dr. Tariq Al-Haidan, assistant foreign minister for organizations affairs, WAM reported.
During the meeting, Madani offered his condolences to Al-Nahyan for the UAE soldiers who martyred while participating in the Saudi-led Arab coalition's Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.
The two leaders discussed topics related to supporting and enhancing OIC's role in both regional and international fields.
Al-Nahyan emphasized on the need for Islamic joint action, and reiterated the UAE's support for OIC's efforts in strengthening solidarity among Islamic countries in all fields.
Madani then briefed Al-Nahyan on the organization’s programs and development plans. He also highlighted the current international developments and their implications on the Islamic world, and praised UAE's support to the organization.
