Abbas briefs OIC fact-finding committee delegation on Israeli violations

President Abbas meets delegatin of OIC fact-finding committee, Ramallah, Palestine

Ramallah (IINA) – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here on Wednesday with a delegation of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC), comprising representatives from Sudan, Turkey, Morocco, Indonesia, Burkina Faso and Palestine, who are members of the fact-finding committee formed by the OIC to probe the conditions in Palestine.
Abbas briefed the delegation members on Israel's violations against the Palestinian people, and its attempts to Judaize the occupied Jerusalem and alter the Arab-Islamic character of the city, as well as the continued attacks on the holy places.
The Palestinian leader also touched on the wars waged by the Israeli occupation forces against the Gaza Strip, and the legacy of war crimes they left behind, in addition to Israel's persistence to holding the bodies of Palestinian martyrs, its policy of incursion, blockade, killings, arrests and land confiscation.
Pointing to Palestine's accession to the International Criminal Court (ICC), President Abbas said Palestinian leadership joined the court to deter the occupying power, protect the Palestinian people and hold the criminals accountable for their crimes.
For their part, the delegation members noted to the mission entrusted to them by the OIC to investigate the facts in the Palestinian territories and look closely at the ongoing Israeli aggressions and violations against the Palestinian people.
The delegation explained that they will submit a detailed report on the conditions of the Palestinian people, especially in the occupied city of Jerusalem, to the next meeting of Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
