Jerusalem (IINA) – The Israeli occupation authorities will start on Sunday the building of a border fence with the length of about 30 kilometers between Israel and Jordan, the Hebrew newspaper Yisrael Hume reported.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had taken a decision to build the fence a few years ago, in coincidence with the construction of the fence on the Egyptian border in the Sinai, but he firstly preferred the completion of the border fence with Egypt, in the south, and with Syria in the north.
Three months ago, the Israeli Political-Security Cabinet decided to commence work on the construction of the eastern fence, after the financial obstacles that prevented the start of work on this project were removed.
The cost of the project is estimated at 250 million shekels (about $ 63 million).
