Tripartite meeting of Sudan, S. Sudan and Russia to be held on Thursday

Khartoum (IINA) – The Foreign ministers of Sudan, Russia and South Sudan are due to hold a tripartite meeting in Moscow on September 10.
Sudanese Foreign Minister Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour said, in statement to Sudan News Agency (SUNA), that the tripartite meeting would discuss the trilateral relations and consider the relations between Sudan and South Sudan.
He stated that the Sudanese-South Sudanese relations were theoretically supposed to be one of the best relationships, but, he noted that there were pending issues between the two countries, primarily the implementation of nine cooperation agreements signed by Presidents Omer al-Bashir and Salva Kiir on 19 September 2012.
The minister said the second part of the visit, which came at the invitation of Russia's Foreign Ministry, would include a bilateral meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, to discuss the relations between Sudan and Russia in all fields, beside the coordination in regional and international issues. He pointed out that the overall relations between the two nations are developing, particularly in the economic and political spheres.
