UAE-UK joint economic committee discuss ways to enhance cooperation

London, (IINA) - The UAE-UK Joint Economic Committee has highlighted during a meeting her on Saturday, the importance of deepening cooperation in various fields as well as strengthening efforts to promote trade volume to 25 billion pound by 2020, according to WAM news agency.
The fourth meeting of the Joint Economic Committee was held in London, under the chairmanship of UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri and UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment Francis Maude.
Senior officials from both sides attended the meeting. 
The two sides commended the previous achievements made by the joint economic committee notably increasing trade exchange between the two countries to12 billion pound by the end of 2014. Al Mansouri hailed the distinguished relations linking the two countries, attributing this to the support of both countries’ leadership and their directives to boost them in various fields.
He called on the British side to promote cooperation in the field of innovation through the development of a joint framework and the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU) in this field.
For his part, Minister Maude commended the deep relations between the two countries in various fields, adding that it is a relationship based on mutual respect, appreciation, excellent partnership and cooperation, which guaranteeing the interests of both countries and peoples.
In addition, the British minister stressed the importance of the UAE as a strategic business partner of the United Kingdom in the Middle East and North Africa.
