Abu Dhabi, (IINA) - Prices of products with the highest demand will be lowered by 50 percent in the United Arab Emirates during this year’s holy month of Ramadan, Arabian Business news reported quoting the UAE's ministry of economy.
Dr. Hashim Al Nuaimi, director of Consumer Protection at the ministry, said the decision was made to ensure that the public has no shortage of essential products like vegetables and fruits, reported local media.
He said that retail outlets in the UAE provide their plans for price reductions and discounted deals for Ramadan within the coming weeks.
Speaking at a meeting with outlet representatives in Abu Dhabi, Dr Nuaimi pointed out that there was a 20 percent increase in sales of Ramadan hampers last year in comparison to 2014.
