Djibouti (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) praised Djibouti’s role to receive thousands of Yemeni refugees who have made it to the tiny Horn of Africa country after the deteriorating security in Yemen, including those who were injured as a result of the military operations, Djibouti News Agency reported.
In conclusion of the emergency meeting held in Jeddah last Tuesday, the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers praised highly the tireless efforts made by the Djiboutian authorities to house the Yemeni refugees whose number exceeded 10,000 people, both in the capital Djibouti and in the refugee camp in the coastal town of Obock in the north of the country.
It is noteworthy that Djibouti has adopted, since the eruption of the crisis in Yemen, a contingency plan, prepared in conjunction with the UN agencies, to receive the growing numbers of refugees and displaced persons, who arrive in Djibouti from Yemen mostly through sea ports.
