Lome, (IINA) - The state of Togo has launched a campaign on Tuesday aimed to offer 100 surgery for Hydrocele, Xinhua reported.
The campaign will be entirely free, covering the operation, hospitalization, treatment and other medical procedure fees as well as those of check-ups until full recovery.
The project, which is funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will be led by surgeon Telli Yaovi Leonard. He said that the operations would be carried out under local anesthesia to remove the fluid around the testicle.
“We therefore wish to urge all those suffering from hydrocele not to fear and hide their disease, because these days, we should not die from such curable diseases”, he said.
A hydrocele is a collection of fluid around the testicle. The condition only occurs in adult males. Typically presents as a painless swelling of the scrotum.
