Iraq, Egypt agee to cooperate in oil and energy field

Baghdad (IINA) – Iraq and Egypt discussed bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in the field of oil industries, National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) reported.
Ministry's Undersecretary for Gas Hamid Younis discussed with the Egypt delegation, headed by President of Egyptian Petroleum Authority Mohamed Ahmed, the prospects of joint cooperation between the two ministries of oil, with regard to areas of export, storage and refining, according to a statement of the Ministry of Oil.
"The two sides discussed finding ways and technical potential of the Egyptian side for cooperation in the fields of drilling, gas and pipeline networks, as well as training of personnel in the Iraqi oil sector, given the Egyptian cadres' experience in the petroleum industry," the statement said.
For his part, Mohamed Ahmed said that private Egyptian oil companies have confirmed their readiness to work in Iraq and cooperate in the field of oil and gas industries, in addition to marketing, with the aim of serving the interests of both countries.
