Jeddah, (IINA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the terrorist suicide bomb attacks that occurred on November 17 and 18 in the northern Nigerian cities of Yola and Kano, which caused the death of 50 people and injury of 123 others.
The attacks were attributed to Boko Haram, a terrorist group that continues to use teenage suicide bombers including girls, to target markets and other public places.
While describing the attacks as an extremist act OIC Secretary General Iyad Madani called for an end to such heinous acts of brutality against innocent people. He said that such attacks negate every human principle, and he reaffirmed the OIC's full solidarity with Nigeria in its renewed efforts to degrade and defeat the violent group. He stressed the need to confront various dimensions of the phenomenon of Boko Haram.
The secretary general conveyed his sincere sympathy and condolences to the government and people of Nigeria as well as to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.
