Jeddah,(IINA) - The OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) joins the international community in strongly condemning the reprehensible terrorist arson attack by the Israeli extremists settlers against the innocent and peaceful Palestinians in which an 18-month-old Palestinian toddler, Ali Dawabsha, was burnt alive and the other members of his family were seriously wounded.
This egregious act represented gross violation of children’s rights, including the right to life. The Commission extends its deep condolences to the bereaved family and wishes quick recovery of the other family members who are struggling with their serious wounds in the hospital.
IPHRC deplored such systematic eviction and continuing policy of expanding settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories in utter disregard to the international humanitarian law and human rights law. IPHRC, therefore, calls for prompt, thorough and independent investigation with a view to bringing the perpetrators of this despicable act to justice.
IPHRC joins the U.N. Secretary-General’s call to put an end to ‘…repeated acts of settler violence’, which ‘have led to another horrific incident involving the death of an innocent life…’ according to the statement.
