UAE launches campaign to aid refugees, displaced in Iraqi Kurdistan

Baghdad (IINA) – Kurdistan Regional Government announced the start of a campaign of the United Arab Emirates to provide humanitarian aid and health supplies for refugees and displaced people in the region where almost a million people will benefit, the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) reported.
According to a statement of the regional government, UAE Consul in the province Rashid Al Mansouri said that the campaign, which began as a gift for the Eid al-Fitr in the Kurdistan region, will continue to the end of this month and will cover all parts of the province.
Al Mansouri explained that the campaign was launched in accordance with the directives of UAE president, through Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation in cooperation with Barzani Charity Foundation and under the supervision of the UAE Red Crescent.
He said that a part of the assistance is weekly and continuous, where the beneficiaries of this process were identified. The other part, containing food aid and needs of mothers and children, as well as drinking water, is allocated for the needy families residing outside refugee camps.
"We will also register names to provide health services and medicines, bring medical and health teams and make surgical process for people in need," he added.
