Jeddah (IINA) – Director General of the International Islamic News Agency (IINA) Ali bin Ahmed Al-Ghamdi has extended condolences to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the royal family as well as to the people of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic and Arab nations on the death of former Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal.
“The Muslim world, including its states and minorities, will miss Prince Saud al-Faisal as a leader and an icon known for his dedication and devotion to serving the causes of his nation and to defending them in the international forums,” Al-Ghamdi was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.
He stated that the late prince had made the voice of the Arab and Islamic nations heard internationally, and always paid great attention to the issues of his Ummah, starting with Palestine and the occupied Jerusalem – the core issue of the Muslim Ummah – and ending with the issues of Muslim and Arab countries that underwent hard times.
Al-Ghamdi went on to say that Prince Saud al-Faisal did not lose sight of the issues of Muslim minorities, especially the oppressed minorities in different parts of the globe, where he became the voice of the voiceless and defended the minority rights in many fora.
The director general stressed that the late prince had made significant gains on the issues of the Muslim Ummah in the international arena, as well as leading high-level delegations to the world to garner support for those issues, making him a link between the Islamic nation and the world, East and West.
