Riyadh event lauds King Salman for keenness on protecting human rights

Riyadh, (IINA) - Participants in the seminar on "The role of the judiciary in the protection of human rights" have extended their profound appreciation to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for the great attention provided for the judiciary that promotes and protects human rights in Saudi Arabia, SPA reported Wednesday.
The symposium was organized yesterday by the Human Rights Commission in the presence of the Minister of Justice Dr. Walid Al-Samaani and Chairman of the Commission Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban.
The symposium stressed the founding principles of the judiciary in the Kingdom including independence of the judiciary, and the lack of authority over judges except for Shariah laws and applicable regulations.
The participants praised the significant developments achieved in the judiciary and the need to continue the efforts in this area in particular to speed up the completion of the preparation of a code of judicial judgments.
