Riyadh (IINA) – King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) is working to complete preparation of the components of the Saudi satellite (Saudi SAT 5B), which is locally made, in preparation for its launch using a Chinese space rocket (Long March 2D) to support remote sensing services in the Kingdom, Saudi Press Agency reported.
This came in the framework of the cooperation between Saudi Arabia and China in various fields, including scientific field, which also includes the establishment of a project on genetics studies.
This cooperation would enhance the shared desire of the two countries' leaderships to push forward the bilateral relations to broader levels and turn them into a strategic partnership with wider dimensions, clearly demonstrated in the mutual visits over the years. These include the visit of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to China in March 2014 as crown prince, which contributed to upgrading the partnership between the two countries in various fields; and the current visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Saudi Arabia, will also help strengthen the ties between the two countries.
