OIC senior officials begin preparatory talks prior to foreign ministers' emergency meeting

Jeddah, (IINA) - The Council of Senior Officials of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) began here on Thursday the preparatory talks for the emergency meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers.
The talks are headed by Kuwaiti Assistant Foreign Minister for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ambassador Nasser Al-Muzayan.
The emergency meeting is held at the request of Saudi Arabia in order to discuss the repercussions of the January 3 attack on the Saudi embassy and consulate in Iran.
The Council of Senior Officials are discussing the draft statement that will be submitted to the Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting, which will be held in this afternoon at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah.
