Saudi academic elected new president of Islamic University in Uganda

Kampala (IINA) – Secretary General of King Faisal International Prize (KFIP) Dr Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Sabeel was elected as the new chairman of the Administration Council of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), during the 27th University Council Meeting held here on Friday, in the presence of the council members from within and outside Uganda.
During the meeting, the council members expressed their appreciation of Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani for the great efforts he is making to mobilize support for the IUIU. They also thanked all the parties concerned for their support to the University.
The council members had earlier agreed to a request from Dr Abdullah Omar Naseef, to step down as IUIU council chairman, expressing their profound appreciation for the service rendered by Dr Nassef to the University since his election in 2004.
