FM Prof. Ghandour

Khartoum (IINA) – Sudanese Foreign Minister Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour received here on Sunday a U.S. Congress delegation, currently visiting Sudan, SUNA reported.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq told reporters that the delegation has been briefed on the situations in the country, including the ongoing national dialogue, the peace efforts in Darfur and the two areas; the Blue Nile and South Kordofan, as well as the Sudanese-American relations and the regional role of Sudan in realizing security and stability in the region.
He pointed out that Sudan image has been subjected to distortion by some international media which focuses on the negative aspects and disregards many positive accomplishments in various fields.
Ambassador Al-Sadiq said the foreign minister asked the U.S. delegation to visit the states of Sudan to see for themselves the real situation there, adding that Prof. Ghandour had responded to the questions raised by the members of the delegation about the relations between Sudan and the State of South Sudan, the national dialogue and the impacts of the U.S. sanctions on Sudan.
