5th UAE-EU dialogue on human rights kicks off in Brussels

Brussels, (IINA) - The 5th Session of the UAE-European Union Dialogue on Human Rights opened on Wednesday at the European Commission in Brussels, WAM reported.
The conference, which is held twice a year in rotation in Abu Dhabi and Brussels, aims at deepening mutual understanding and maintaining communication and discussion on a variety of topics of common concern in human rights. It also contributes to highlight the bright image of the UAE in all fields.
Assistant UAE Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs Abdul Rahim Al-Awadi headed the UAE delegation to the meeting, which included the UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, and the Head of the UAE Mission to the European Union as well as a number of senior officials from the foreign and interior ministries.
The EU side was led by Head of the Arabian Peninsula, Iran and Iraq Division, John O'rourke, and included the EU Ambassador to the UAE and some prominent officials and experts from the European External Action Service.
