Sudan’s Bashir begins Algeria visit for talks with Bouteflika

Khartoum (IINA) – Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir arrived in Algiers for a three-day visit to Algeria during which he will hold talks with his Algerian counterpart Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
Sudan's Ambassador to Algeria Isam Awad said that the current visit by President Al-Bashir to Algeria aims at the consolidation of relationships between Sudan and the North African country.
He said in a statement to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the bilateral relations are witnessing progress in the political field, referring to the coordination of stances between Sudan and Algeria at the regional and international forums.
The ambassador said that al-Bashir's visit to Algeria also aims to strengthen the economic relations between the two countries.
In this regard, he noted that al-Bashir will meet with the Algerian businessmen in Algiers, in the presence of the Minister of Investment, to brief them on the large investment opportunities in Sudan.
The diplomat added that the talks between the two leaders will further discuss regional issues, especially the situations in Libya and Yemen.
He said that the summit between Presidents Bashir and Bouteflika Monday will discuss the issue of the Sudanese traditional miners who were arrested in Algeria.
