OIC chief Iyad Madani

Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani strongly condemned the terrorist bomb attacks that occurred on Saturday and Sunday in Chad and Cameroon in which 51 people were killed and 77 others injured.
The attacks were attributed to Boko Haram terrorist group in which teenage suicide bombers including girls were used to target markets in Baga Sola in Chad and Mora in neighboring Cameroon. While describing the attacks as savage and cowardly, Madani called for an end to such acts of brutality which run counter to every human principle and reaffirmed OIC's full solidarity with the two member states in their continuing efforts to combat the menace of the extremist group.
The secretary general also urged countries in the Lake Chad region to activate as a matter of urgency the established Multinational Joint Task Force to coordinate their counter terrorism endeavors.
Madani conveyed his deep sympathy and condolences to the governments and people of Chad and Cameroon as well as to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.
