Doha (IINA) – Member of the Sudan Scholar Corporation Sheikh Mohammed Ahmed Hassan on Sunday praised the significant role being played by Qatar in helping the poor and distressed in all countries of the world, referring to the Gulf State's ongoing social, education, health and orphan projects in the African Continent, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
During a meeting with the Islamic Dawah Organization employees here on Sunday, Sheikh Hassan highly appreciated Qatar's pioneering role in offering charitable and humanitarian support around the world, pointing out that the Qatari philanthropists are exerting great efforts in helping the poor and orphans.
He added that the Qatari charitable projects in Sudan are clearly visible, including those carried out by the Islamic Dawa Organization along with various Qatari charitable associations and institutions in several areas. These projects include the establishment of mosques, Islamic complexes, health centers and schools as well as support to universities, institutes and dawa centers, digging of water wells and implementation of charitable relief projects for the orphans and poor families.
On the role being played by the Islamic Dawa Organization in Africa and its contribution to poverty alleviation there, Sheikh Hassan praised its efforts to serve the vulnerable segments in the community such as the poor, orphans, widows and people with special needs.
He also hailed the great efforts being made by the Organization in the field of helping the poor and disaster relief in African countries and other Arab and Islamic countries.
