Abu Dhabi, (IINA) - The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has condemned in the strongest possible terms the occupation of the UAE embassy in the Yemeni capital Sana'a by the Houthi group on Sunday, WAM reported.
In a statement, the MoFA called for the evacuation of the embassy immediately and restore it to the embassy staff, adding that the UAE retains the right to bring perpetrators of the attack to justice and accountability. "This act is a further evidence that the group which committed this attack does not show any regard or respect for international conventions and diplomatic norms, as it practices jungle law," the statement said.
The MoFA stressed that the occupation of the embassy and the evacuation of embassy staff will not deter the UAE's support for the restoration of stability to sisterly Yemen.
For its part, Saudi Arabia Foreign Ministry (SFM) condemns the criminal attack on the UAE embassy.
An official source at the SFM expressed condemnation to the assault suffered by the embassy of the UAE in Sana'a, by Houthi militia.
The source added that "this criminal act is a flagrant attack on international norms, legislation and laws."
Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BMFA) has also condemned Houthi's act, stressing at the same time the need to respect the inviolability of the headquarters of diplomatic missions and the safety of their staff as guaranteed by the Vienna Conventions on Diplomatic and Consular Relations.
