Egypt: Unemployment rates among young reached 26.3%

Cairo, (IINA) - According to a new statistics issued on Tuesday by the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMS), the number of young between the ages of 18 to 29 reached around 20.7 million people in the first half of 2015, which is mean 23.6 percent of the total population, indicating that the rate of unemployment among young’s reached 26.3 percent.
The agency noted in a statement on the occasion of the World Youth Day, which falls on August 12 of each year that 52 percent of young people are contributing to the labor force, 72.3 percent are males and 28.5 percent are females.
CAPMS pointed out that 64.4 percent of young people have permanent job, while the percentage of temporary contractors to reached 33.4%.
The statement added that the proportion of participants in the social security among young between the ages of 18 to 29 reached 32.3 percent while the participants in the health insurance reached 22.2 percent.
On the other side the report pointed out that the percentage of married males from the age of 18 to 29 was 64.6 percent while the percentage of females was 95.2 percent,
Also, according to the statistics, the percentage of divorced males of the same age reached 25.6 percent of the total divorced males and 46.3 percent for the females.
