Ramadan food baskets to be distributed to needy Somali families

Mogadishu (IINA) – The Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of the Somali people distributed food baskets on Saturday to 3,000 needy families and low-income people in Adada city in central Somalia's Galgadud region.
The distribution process of the food aid commodities, consisting of rice, flour and cooking oil, was conducted in coordination with Adada Municipality.
Saeed Mahanna, head of the relief project for the Saudi campaign in Somalia, said that they distributed Ramadan food baskets to the most vulnerable groups in Adada which has camps for the displaced and destitute families. He added that the food baskets have benefited nearly 3,000 families in need of support.
For his part, Abdullah Abdul-Rahman, mayor of Adada city, thanked the Saudi National Campaign for the Relief of the Somali people, and wished more prosperity and progress to the campaign and the Kingdom’s leadership.
It is worth mentioning that the Saudi National Campaign has carried out humanitarian and development projects in Somalia, including the delivery of food aid to the Somali needy families in Mogadishu and other parts of the country throughout the past years. The campaign has also played a major role in the construction of primary and secondary schools in the Horn of Africa country.
