Jeddah (IINA) – The Department of Information at the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the International Islamic News Agency (IINA) with the aim of strengthening cooperation in joint areas and implementing Islamic Conference of Information Ministers’ resolutions.
The MoU was signed at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah on Thursday by Director of the Department of Information Maha Mustafa Akeel and Director General of IINA Ali Ahmad Al-Ghamdi.
The agreement provides for text, image and video coverage by IINA of the activities of the General Secretariat and sending them to news agencies, satellite channels and the mass media. It also includes production of joint reports on the creation of awareness about issues of the Islamic Ummah, counter-extremist narratives, terrorism, violence and Islamophobia.
The agreement also covers other areas of cooperation, including the organization of workshops, joint training sessions for staff members of the two sides and journalists from the Muslim world.
