Makkah (IINA) – The General Presidency for the affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has installed 12 external electronic screens with professional high-definition television (HDTV).
This came within the implementation of the presidency’s plan to make all preparations and to provide the best services for the Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, as well as the visitors to the Two Holy Mosques to enable them perform their rituals in peace and comfort.
Director of the Project Management Engineer Sultan bin Atthe Al-Qurashi explained that the screens (2.5m width x 1m height) were placed at the gates of the Second Saudi Expansion (King Fahd Expansion) of the Grand Mosque.
“These electronic screens match the highest international quality standards in terms of being light in weight and resistant to weather conditions and method of control,” Al-Qurashi said.
He told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the remote-controlled screens were installed to serve the worshipers, pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque by displaying information, guidance and instructions that would guide them to King Abdullah expansion in cases of crowding. He pointed out that the presidency used this modern technology because it is the easiest and fastest method to direct the guests of the Holy Mosque.
Al-Qurashi stressed that the data displayed on the electronic screens is clearly visible from a distance of more than 100 meters, adding that a specialized company in this field was selected to carry out the presidency’s plan.
