Jordanian King visits Kazakhstan; holds talks with President Nazarbayev

Astana, (IINA) - Jordanian King Abdullah met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev at the presidential palace here on Thursday. Their talks dealt with bilateral ties and ways of enhancing them in various fields, in addition to the latest developments in regional and international arenas, Petra reported.
The King congratulated Nazarbayev for gaining the Kazakh people's trust in his re-election for a new term.
The two leaders asserted their mutual enthusiasm to consolidate relations between the two countries in various areas, especially economic and investment ones.
They spoke about efforts to counter terrorism and the fight against extremist ideology, which poses a threat to global peace and security. They also stressed both countries' support to the efforts to confront this danger and defeat organizations involved in such nefarious acts, through a holistic strategy.
Jordanian King praised the efforts of Kazakhstan in holding the fifth conference of the leaders of world and traditional religions to promote tolerance, moderation and acceptance of others and values of coexistence among followers of various divine religions.
Further, he pointed to the importance of highlighting the true image of Islam, and to focus on its moderate approach and principles of tolerance and renunciation of violence and extremism, as well promoting inter-religious dialogue initiatives, which would contribute to bring about peace, love and dialogue among religions.
Both leaders also emphasized the need to ramp up efforts to revive peace negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.
They also stressed the need to reach a comprehensive political solution to issues gripping some Middle East countries to ensure the security, safety and stability of these countries and their peoples.
