Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Sunday's suicide car bomb attack at a crowded transport hub in the Turkish capital of Ankara, which left at least 32 people dead and 125 injured.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery for those wounded.
Madani confirmed the OIC's support of Turkey in its fight against terrorism and expressed confidence in the Turkish government’s efforts to bring to justice the perpetrators of the tragedy.
The Secretary General expressed the deep concern of the OIC over the impact of the increasing number of terrorist acts in the member states and in many other countries. He called for concerted efforts and further coordination and collaboration at the regional and international levels to reduce its causes in order to ensure peace and security for the entire world's nations.
Madani reiterated the OIC principled position that rejects all forms of terrorism, which has become a serious threat to the stability of the member states and undermines their development efforts.
