Jakarta (IINA) – The governments of Indonesia and South Korea inaugurated an e-government cooperation center here on Wednesday to support the efforts to achieve world-class governance, which is more transparent, effective and efficient, ANTARA News reported.
"The e-government center will serve as the development strategy to boost cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea," Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi said during the signing of the cooperation agreement with South Korean Home Affairs Minister Hong Yun Sik.
He noted that Indonesia and South Korea realized the importance of deepening bilateral relations in all fields of e-governance within the framework of bureaucratic reforms.
According to the minister, e-governance is the best way to ensure transparency in state administration in the globalization era amid high public expectations with regard to improving public services.
"Through the sharing of knowledge on e-governance, it is expected that the ideals of President Jokowi to build an effective and transparent world-class governance would soon be realized," he added.
The plan to develop an e-government cooperation center came to light during a joint declaration signed on 4 December 2006, between the presidents of the two countries on partnership strategies to boost friendship and cooperation.
