Speakers at international seminar on life of Prophet condemn terrorism

Hyderabad, India, (IINA) - An international seminar on the life and ways of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) kicked off on Sunday condemned terrorism and declared that Islam has no room for any terrorist activities, The Hindu daily reported.
“Islam is the religion of peace, fraternity, tolerance, mutual respect and patriotism,” said eminent scholars from across the country at the 3-day international seminar that was inaugurated on Sunday at A Al Mahad Al Aali Al Islami at Taleemabad in Shaheen Nagar in the south Indian city of Hyderabad.
The scholars also emphasized interfaith cordial relationship terming it as the “essence of Islamic teachings,” according to a press release.
Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana Mohammad Mahmood Ali, who was the chief guest, called upon the Muslim countries to spend their wealth on educational and welfare activities.
He urged the Islamic scholars and clergies to guide Muslim youth to excel in worldly affairs of engineering, medicine, science and technology and other areas and be of community service.
All India Majlise Ittihadul Muslimeen President and Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi alleged that the “Central government was dividing Muslims into different sects” and trying to “prove that a certain group is favoring terrorism and a certain group is opposing it”.
Maulana Mahmood Madani called upon Muslims to coexist cordially and in peace with other religions. He urged Muslims to not refrain from expressing their love for the nation whenever possible, noting that the condition of Muslims in India numbering to nearly half of the sub-continent’s Muslim population were better off than those in others parts of the sub-continent. He said times won’t ameliorate with the change of government but only when we “ameliorate our characters and deeds” and be exemplary in conduct.
From his side, Mohammed Khaled Saifullah Rahmani, secretary, All India Muslim Personal Law Board in his keynote address said Muslims should teach Islamic teachings in regional languages to clear the misconceptions about Islam among people of other faiths. He said this would help narrow the gap between Muslims and other communities.
Saudi Islamic scholar Abdullah Mohammed Al Ghamdi also spoke. Maulana Mohammed Rafeeq Qasmi, Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (Delhi), Shaikh Mohammed Ahdal, Hazrath Maulana Mohammed Saifan Qasmi, Maulana Abbas Ali, Maulana Abdullah, Mufti Ahmed Dehlvi, Hazrath Maulana Syed Mohammed Wali Rahmani, Ziauddin Nayyar, Mufti Sadeq Mohiuddin and others were also present.
