Dubai (IINA) – Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has honored Australia’s Minister for Environment Greg Hunt as ‘the best minister in the world’ at the fourth edition of the World Government Summit in Dubai on Tuesday.
Hunt was conferred the ministerial prize, which was awarded by the Summit for the first time this year, in recognition for his achievements as minister, including his contributions to preserving the world heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef, including banning the dumping of dredge spoil on the reef in 2015.
While accepting the award, Hunt announced a new partnership between the UAE and Australia to lobby the United Nations on developing a method to evaluate blue carbon.
