Mogadishu (IINA) – A businessman was shot dead on Tuesday night by unidentified gunmen in the port city of Bosaso, the commercial hub of Somalia's north-eastern Puntland region.
A local source said the businessman, who was identified as Hersi Aden, an official of oil importing company, was fatally shot by unknown gunmen armed with pistols after they attacked a hotel located in the heart of Bosaso.
The source added that Puntland’s security forces cordoned off the scene after the assassination and initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
Nobody has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack, and the reason behind the murder of Aden remains unclear.
