Kuwait, (IINA) - Kuwait and Algeria signed here on Sunday a MoU to enhance legal and judicial cooperation between both Arab countries, Kuna reported.

"We aspire to activate agreements signed with Algeria in all fields, especially legal and judicial," Minister of Justice and Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea told reporters after signing the MoU with visiting Algerian Minister of Justice Al-Tayeb Louh.

Al-Sanea stressed keenness by the leaders in the two countries on consolidating bilateral ties in all fields.

In addition, he underlined the importance of implementing bilateral accords especially for countering terrorism and cross-border organized crime, as well as in terms of international pacts for combating corruption.

For his part, the Algerian minister pointed to the strong bilateral relations, which led to these various agreements.

Louh added that fighting terrorism featured high on the agenda of his talks with Minister Al-Sanea. Terrorism is impeding development in many Arab states, he said.

Legislation only is not enough to resolve the problem of terrorism, he said calling for a mechanism for drying up financing sources and investigating causes that encourage young people to join terrorist groups.
