Saudi security official killed, five injured while arresting four terrorists in Al-Awamiyah

Riyadh, (IINA) - Four people were arrested in Saudi Arabia after security forces raided an extremist cell in Al-Qatif region in the Eastern Province, the interior ministry said, according to Al Arabiya News Channel.

During the raid in Al-Awamiyah village, a security official was killed and five injured including three securingmen and two civilians in shootout with militants, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The exchange of fire resulted in the injury of Corporal Majed bin Turki Al-Qahtani, and he was succumbed to his injuries after taking to hospital.

The condition of the injured security men as well as the citizen and expatriate is stable.

The Interior Ministry spokesperson noted that security forces have uncovered large amount of weapons after the raid.
