Tight Security measures in Afghanistan ahead of talks (Xinhua photo)
Kabul (IINA) – The government of Afghanistan has beefed up security measures ahead of holding four-nation talks on Afghan peace talks expected to open on Tuesday, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The fourth round of the key four-nation talks which include Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and the United States is expected to open here on Tuesday, planned to work out to find a roadmap for bringing Taliban into negotiating table with Afghan government to find negotiated settlement to the lingering Afghan crisis.
Afghan officials are hopeful that the fourth round of four-nation talks could set a date for holding direct dialogue between the government and Taliban militants. The hardliner Taliban militants, however, have yet to express any green light to join the peace talks.
