Jeddah, (IINA) - Saudi billionaire Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal said on Tuesday that he had canceled his plans to invest in Iran, following Riyadh's move to cut its diplomatic relations with Tehran, Arab News reported.
Writing on his Twitter account, the prince said that he rejected a request by the Iranian ambassador to Saudi Arabia for a meeting. He also noted that Flynas has stopped all flights to Iran. Kingdom Holding, which Prince Al-Waleed chairs, owns 34 percent stake in the budget carrier.
In the tweet, the prince did not elaborate on what his investment plans for Iran.
Saudi Arabia severed diplomatic ties on Sunday and froze commercial relations with Iran after Iranian fanatics stormed the Kingdom's embassy in Tehran and consulate in Mashad in retaliation for the execution of Saudi Shiite radical Nimr Al-Nimr.
