OIC condemns terrorist attacks on marketplace in Chad

Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned Saturday's triple suicide bomb attacks on a marketplace in the Chadian island of Loulou Fou, leaving 27 dead and over 80 wounded.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani described the attacks, attributed to Boko Haram extremist group, as a reprehensible act of terrorism. He called for an end to such heinous acts of brutality against innocent people and reaffirmed the OIC's full solidarity with the authorities in Chad and countries in the Lake Chad region in their collective efforts under the Multinational Joint Task Force to combat and defeat the violent group.
Madani also emphasized the need to confront the multifaceted dimensions of the Boko Haram phenomenon.
The Secretary General conveyed his deep sympathy and condolences to the government and people of Chad as well as to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.
