Dubai, (IINA) - The UAE will host the Dubai WoodShow 2016 on April 4-6. The event, which is the largest trade fair for wood products in the Middle East, will showcase about 412,400 cubic meters of softwood lumber, exported mainly from European and North American countries, WAM reported citing a Woodstat industry report.
Romania is the biggest exporter of softwood lumber to the UAE with a volume of 233,000 m3, while Germany came second with a volume of 101,000 m3 while the collective exports of Austria, Russia, Canada and Ukraine amounted to 78,000 m3 of softwood lumber.
Dubai WoodShow 2016 will open doors for other pavilions, including Turkey and India, as well as last year’s seven national pavilions of the US, Spain, France, Malaysia, Sweden, Canada and China. This expansion is expected to further boost the show’s reputation, compared to last year’s record growth of 33% increase in exhibitors over 2014.
The 11th edition is set to put on display all kinds of both softwood products made of cedar, fir, pine, redwood, or hardwood products from ash, birch, cherry, mahogany, maple, oak, poplar, teak, and walnut. "Dubai WoodShow showcases exquisite wood and woodworking material",
Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions CEO Dawood Al-Shezawi, organizer of the Dubai WoodShow, said: "The exhibition allows customers in the Middle East to have access to wood products and accessories of top-most quality”. He added: “Our distinct advantage this year is not just in the number of exhibitors but the new product launches that will use the exhibition floor to target the regional market".
