Algiers, (IINA) - Algeria has announced on Tuesday the launch of the operational phase of Youth-Employment Support Program (PAJE), which is co-financed by Algeria and the European Union, Algeria Press Service reported.
The Algerian government underlined the phase’s impact on the integration of young people to the work environment.
Around €26 million, of which €23.5 million by the EU and €2.5 million by Algeria, were raised to fund the PAJE, which is due to end by 2018.
During the opening of the first seminar on the program, Principal Private Secretary at the Ministry of Labor Employment and Social Security Nasreddine Bouguerra said that the PAJE is a mechanism to support the Algerian Government in its policy for youth and their employability.
"It will contribute to strengthening the intersectorality in addressing youth issues and increasing the impact of actions developed by public authorities to that end, especially through the development of tools and practices of intersectoral coordination and consultation", he explained.
The program will be first implemented in four pilot provinces, namely Annaba, Oran, Khenchela and Bechar, and then in all provinces nationwide.
