Khartoum (IINA) – Sudanese Minister of Water Resources and Electricity Mutaz Musa said a six-member ministerial meeting on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is scheduled to take place in Khartoum on December 6-7, SUNA reported.
The meeting which will include the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Water Resources in Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia, aims to discuss the challenges and give political and technical push to the agreement on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, signed by the leaders of the three countries in Khartoum on March 23.
Musa pointed out that the agreement laid down foundation for cooperation of the three countries to maximize joint benefits among them, and to ward off any unexpected negative effects of the project.
It is worth mentioning that the last joint ministerial meeting between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Water Resources in the three countries was held in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, where the ministers announced the draft agreement which was signed later by the presidents.
