Melbourne (IINA) – Deakin University in Melbourne, one of Australia's leading universities, organized here on Monday a workshop on the Islamic Museum of Australia (IMA), in the presence of Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani.
During his speech at the workshop, IMA Director Moustafa Fahour, who is also the founder of the Islamic Museum of Australia, shed light on the Museum and its role in the promotion of cultural and civilizational coexistence in Australia, reviewing the most important activities carried out by the Museum.
It may be mentioned here that the OIC had attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the Islamic Museum of Australia in 2012, which was later inaugurated in March 2014.
Madani started Saturday an official visit to Australia, where he is set to meet with Australian Prime Malcolm Turnbull, several ministers and provincial governors as well as the Australian Special Envoy to the OIC. He will also speak at Melbourne University at the Arab and Islamic Studies Center.
Accompanying the OIC chief during the visit are Secretary of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy Dr Abdusalam Abadi and senior officials from OIC General Secretariat.
