OIC lauds EU decision to label products from Israeli settlements

Thursday 12 Nov 2015 - 10:43 Makkah mean time-30-1-1437 Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani commended the decision taken by the European Union to label goods and products made in Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territories. Madani considered the EU decision an important step in line with international resolutions and positions affirming illegality of Israeli settlements. He emphasized the need to build on such measures and strengthen them with political decisions and an effective role by the EU toward compelling Israel to stop all apartheid settlement activities throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, which constitute a major obstacle to achieving peace based on the two-state solution.
