Cairo (IINA) – Egypt's top religious authority, Dar al-Ifta, launched on Wednesday a global initiative targeting non-Arabs to tackle hostility and hate towards Muslims or Islamophobia, as well as to clarify the truth of Islam and to respond to claims of extremist groups in the West.
Dr Ibrahim Negm, the advisor to the Grand Mufti of Egypt, stated that the initiative to address Islamophobia targets non-Arabs from countries around the world through several mechanisms. He added that these mechanisms will be used to confront the wave of anti-Muslim intolerance which is sweeping Europe, and to explain the true teachings of Islam as well as clarifying the difference between the true Islam and the distorted perceptions propagated by extremist groups in the West.
Dr Negm noted that the initiative will highlight those facts about Islam, which will be made available in a number of different languages including English, French, German and Spanish in order to reach the largest number of people possible. This, in turn, will expose the ideological structure of the Takfiri groups.
