Abu Dhabi, (IINA) - Organizers of Global Food Marketplace (SIAL) Middle East have announced that the inaugural edition of Abu Dhabi International Date Palm Exhibition (ADIDPE 2015), the world’s only dedicated business-to-business event for the date palm, will run from December 7 to 9 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), WAM reported.
The event, to be held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, will be co-located with the Middle Eastern Food Exhibition, SIAL Abu Dhabi 2015.
ADIDPE 2015 will serve as a dedicated platform for trading in dates, the most widely cultivated fruit crop in the UAE, it will showcase different varieties of dates from top global producing countries, the event will draw participation of 200 exhibitors from 15 countries, six national pavilions and more than 2,000 trade delegates and suppliers from around the world.
The Hosted Buyer Program will serve as the key attraction of the event, bringing more than 50 top importers of date palm fruit and associated products from Malaysia, India, Jordan, Pakistan, Italy, and the United Kingdom, among others, to meet with exhibitors and discuss their requirements.
Director of SIAL Middle East Fadi Saad said: "We are delighted to present the inaugural edition of Abu Dhabi International Date Palm Exhibition that will establish the emirate’s growing status as a global hub for the date trade along with the hugely successful business-to-consumer event 'Emirates International Date Palm Festival'. In convening ADIDPE 2015 under the umbrella of SIAL Middle East, we seek to offer producers of dates a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with the right buyers, purchasing managers and decision makers from the global date palm industry on one dedicated platform".
He also noted that ADIDPE 2015 is extensively supported by the strategic partner, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority, and the headline sponsor, Ministry of Presidential Affairs, and that the event is jointly organized by SIAL Middle East and Khalifa International Date Palm Award.
