Hebron, (IINA) - Israeli Jewish settlers, under the guard of the Israeli army, attacked on Tuesday Palestinian homes to the east of Hebron city, WAFA reported citing local sources.
The sources said that Jewish settlers from the Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba, which was built illegally on Palestinian lands, broke into the eastern part of Hebron and attacked a number of houses that belonged to Palestinians with stones and empty glass bottles. They also shouted profanities against local Palestinians.
An Israeli military escort was accompanying the settlers during the attack in order to protect them in case Palestinians wanted to defend themselves. It is noteworthy that this is the second time such an incident occurred in less than a week.
Last Saturday, dozens of settlers from Kiryat Arba removed the barbed wires that separate the settlement from adjacent Palestinian homes and attacked them with stones and bottles. They also shouted racist slogans and profanities against Palestinian families in the neighborhood.
Violence by Jewish settlers has become a daily event. On July 31, a group of Jewish fanatics killed an 18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh and seriously injured his entire family, during a predawn arson attack that targeted two homes in the village of Duma, south of Nablus.
Settlers recently stepped up their attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, amid growing tension and renewing clashes between unarmed Palestinians and the Israeli army and police.
