Ramallah (IINA) - Palestinian Prime Minister Dr Rami Hamdallah called on the European Union to take serious and effective steps to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation forces and settlers.
This came during Hamdallah's meeting with EU Special Representative for the Middle East peace process Fernando Gentilini, in Ramallah on Monday.
The Palestinian prime minister briefed the EU envoy on the latest political developments, the ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinians and the Islamic and Christian holy sites, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Hamdallah called on the EU to adopt a new political path to end the Israeli occupation and settlement activities, and to revive the peace process in accordance with the new criteria to ensure the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Palestinian prime minister stressed that "any initiative to reviving the peace process with Israel, and resuming the talks between the two sides, must be according to international guarantees and a specific timetable, during which an agreement on final status issues could be reached".
