West Bank, (IINA) - Israeli Jewish settlers on Monday intensified their attacks against Palestinians across the West Bank, WAFA reported citing local sources.
These violent attacks continued for the third day of an unabated aggression against vulnerable Palestinian communities. The attacks mainly targetted villages that are adjacent to illegal Jewish settlements.
In Jenin district, dozens of Israeli settlers gathered at the evacuated settlement of Homesh at Nablus-Jenin road and verbally assaulted Palestinian passers-by.
Settlers also gathered at the entrance of Mevo-Dotan settlement, southwest of Jenin, and waved Israeli flags and chanted anti-Arab slogans.
In Nablus, settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles while they were trying to pass the Israeli Huwwara checkpoint, which caused material damage to the vehicles.
Meanwhile in Hebron, settlers provocatively rallied in the Old City of Jerusalem and shouted racist slogans against Arabs while waving Israel’s flags.
Also in Hebron, settlers physically assaulted a Palestinian minor, a 13-year-old Adham Msallam, the assault left severe bruises throughout the boy's body.
Settlers further assaulted a Palestinian youth in the town of Bani Na’im - a 24-year-old Mohammad Tarayreh, who also sustained bruises.
Such escalations by settlers happened while they were under the protection of the Israeli forces, and they are occurring in correspondence with Israeli attempts to divide Al-Aqsa Mosque between Muslims and Jews.
Palestinian officials, including President Mahmoud Abbas, have repeatedly warned that such a move will have dire consequences on the overall political atmosphere in the region.
