Hebron, (IINA) - Israeli soldiers killed a schoolgirl in Hebron on Sunday, raising the death toll among Palestinians since the beginning of October to 58, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said soldiers opened fire at Dania Irshayyid near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City of Jerusalem.
According to WAFA, Israeli soldiers denied medical crews from providing medical treatment to the girl. They also shut down the mosque and denied the access of worshipers and Islamic Waqf personnel shortly after the incident.
An eyewitness sayed: "The school girl wanted to cross through the Israeli occupation military checkpoint near the Mosque while she was putting her school bag on her back. The girl was walking alone and the soldiers asked her to stop, another soldier immediately aimed his rifle towards her and shot her”.
According to the Ministry of Health, Israeli forces have killed at least 58 Palestinians since the beginning of October 2015, including 13 children and a pregnant woman.
It also reported that at least 2,000 Palestinians were injured this month, most of them by live rounds and rubber-coated steel bullets, and many others were beaten or suffered burns due to Israeli gas bombs and the use of concussion grenades. Around  450 of the injured are women and children.
